Swimming Lessons for Babies & Young Children

Babies develop quickly from a very young age. We think there’s no better way to help them grow their confidence, explore new experiences, and improve their sensory awareness by getting into the water!

When you attend one of our parent and child swimming classes, your time in the pool will be all about building your little one’s water confidence and discovering new sensations together through structured play in a safe, supportive pool environment.

The classes combine structure and fun which helps develop their learning skills too, you can read more about this here.

Once your children start school, we can continue to support their learning in our after school and weekend classes.

How do our swimming classes for younger children work?

We follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme, which enables babies, toddlers, and older children to learn vital skills and work towards recognised swimming certifications. You can learn more about our swimming awards here.

We only ever have one class in the pool at any time and operate with a ratio of one water-based instructor to four swimmers, so you know your little ones will be well looked after.

We run children’s swimming classes at three pools near Colchester: Britannia Pool near Marks Tey, Primrose Pool near Harwich, and the YouFit Health Club pool in Eight Ash Green. You can take a look at the various facilities on offer from these locations by clicking through to their respective pages on our website.

Please contact us directly for more information on our children’s swimming lessons and we’ll help you choose a class or programme that suits your family’s needs.
